The Bead&Button magazine and show staff have challenged Loose Bead Society members to create a piece using the 2015 Commemorative Show Bead by flameworker Andrea Guarino-Slemmons. The pieces will be auctioned off at the Bead Social on Saturday evening, June 6, 2015. KPC hopes that each piece is auctioned off for over $250.00.
Interested LBS members should submit one of their own creations by December 15. The creation you submit for judging should reflect your ability to create a statement piece using a focal bead. The board of directors will review all the submitted pieces and choose three designers to create a piece using the commemorative bead. The chosen designers will receive the commemorative bead to work with by the end of the year. All pieces submitted for judging will be returned by the end of the year.
The chosen designers must create a piece and turn it in by February 9, 2015. (Details about the procedure to follow.)
Winners will have their pieces published in the June issue of Bead&Button magazine, receive a 1-year subscription to the magazine, and get a Commemorative Bead to keep.
