Metamorphosis - A Stage in the Life of a Butterfly or Moth
The pieces were turned in, and the votes for Members' Choice were cast. Although there were many great entries, Bonnie DeSautelle's piece had the most votes! Susan Beal, last year's Members' Choice Award winner, crowned Bonnie with the Challenge Tiara.

The entries were judged by area professionals, and the winners were announced at our meeting on August 16th. There was a three way tie for first place! Bonnie DeSautelle, Betty Biese, and Jan Falk won first place. Sue Grimyser won second place, and Traci Otte won third plac

Jo Anna Poehlmann

Jo Anna Poehlmann is currently a Milwaukee-based artist exhibiting the “The Insectopedia of Jo Anna Poehlmann” at the Racine Art Museum (RAM).  She studied at Layton School of Art, Kansas City Art Institute, Marquette University and UW-Milwaukee. 

Jo Anna established her career creating delicate and detailed drawings and books that emphasize the natural world.  About insects the artist has stated:  “My reaction to the world of insects is simply awe at the endless variety and limitless subject matter of creation and the desire to reflect what is witnessed.”

Poehlmann's work can be found in major are museums and library collections across the US including Boston Public Library; Duke University; Kennedy Library (California); Milwaukee Art Museum: Milwaukee Public Library; Museum of Modern Art Library (New York); The New York Public Library; Sterling Memorial Library; Yale University and Walker Art Museum.


Tricia Blasko

Tricia Blasko is currently the Curator of Education for the Racine Art Museum, and has been working in Education for the museum for the past 15 years. She has a BA in Art History and Studio Arts and a background graphics. Tricia co-owns "Bliss", creating jewelry and wearable art for over ten years, using sterling silver, precious metal clay and semi precious stones.

Anna Elizabeth Draeger

Anna Elizabeth Draeger is the author of Crystal Brilliance: Making designer jewelry with crystal beads and of the online column Ask Anna. She is an associate editor of Bead&Button magazine, a CREATE YOUR STYLE WITH SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS AMBASSADOR, and teaches whenever she gets the chance.
