Loose Bead Society of Greater Milwaukee Board Meeting
September 11, 2007
Uno’s Restaurant- Brookfield
Members Present: Suzanne
Leberman, Debbie Bednarek, Susan Duehl, Julie Miller, Ann Cook
Rhonda Kutz, Pat Fricano and Renee Corya were absent
-
Elections were discussed. Board members will give a refresher to members
at the September meeting as to each office’s duties.
Discussion that Vice President of Programming and Special Events both
need committees throughout the year while the other offices do not. At this
time, all current officers are planning to run again and no one else has come
forward to run although they have until the October meeting to do so.
-
Will announce the Silent Auction for December so that members can
contribute items if they so wish and know about it well ahead of time. Will plan
the party portion of the December meeting in October.
-
Newsletter discussion. Would
like more members to contribute articles and information; is there a need for a
newsletter committee? Susan said the LBS account at Kinko’s is not functioning
right now.
-
Discussion of volunteer recognition for members who give of their time
throughout the year for the society. Would like to recognize everyone’s
efforts at the holiday party. We need lists of everyone who has volunteered at
an event or as a presenter throughout 2007.
-
Treasurer’s report: Discussion of retreat costs from 2007 and projected
for 2008. Suzanne indicated that
the retreat committee has selected classes and is finalizing prices and details
for the invitations which will be coming out in early November.
Ann also gave an account of projected expenses for the society in terms of
percentages spent from membership dues versus other fundraising events.
-
The installation pieces are on exhibit at the Oak Creek Library through
the month of September thanks to Renee Corya and Liann.
-
The Milwaukee Bead Show will be on February 24th, 2008, at the
Windham Hotel near the airport instead of Serb Hall.
Respectfully submitted,
Debbie Bednarek
Loose Bead Society Secretary
