Monthly Meeting- October 15, 2007
New Berlin Public library- 7:00 p.m.

Election of officers for 2008. Suzanne called for nominations from the floor and there were
none. Since only one person was running per office, Joanne Bergmann made a
motion that the ballot be accepted as presented. Marge Huffman seconded it.
For 2008, the LBS officers are:
President- Rhonda

Vice President of Special Events- Suzanne Leberman
Vice President of Programming- Renee Corya
Secretary- Debbie Bednarek
Treasurer- Ann Cook

Turtle Island is having a contest with a January 15th
deadline. Information will be
posted on our website if you are interested in participating. Their website is www.turtleislandbeads.com

The retreat invitations will be mailed out to all members on November 1st
and samples for the classes will be on display at the November meeting with
pictures on the website. The
retreat is in Racine March 14, 15 and 16, 2008.
Secretary’s
report:

Debbie reminded everyone that entrees for the Vintag challenge Nottingham
Beads is holding for our members are due at the November meeting.
You may turn in your entry to Debbie that night or to Nottingham Beads
any time before that night. Please
make sure your name and phone number are on your item.

Northwest Beads in Menomonee Falls is having an LBS member’s only sale
Saturday, October 20th, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Directions are on our website.

The board is looking for members to donate any items of interest (bead
related or otherwise) for our December Silent Auction.
Proceeds will go towards the program Rhonda runs at Children’s Hospital
for beading with the patients.
Treasurer’s report:

Ann announced that we had $50 of income with $30 of expenses leaving a
total in our account of $2,255.05.
Website report

Pat repeated that information regarding the Northwest bead sale and the
Vintag challenge are on the website. Please send her any information about interesting
events, sales, etc., at any time.
Membership report:
-
Julie reported that we currently have 125 members with 3 people already
renewed for 2008. Remember that you
need to be renewed before the January meeting to participate in the annual sale
at Knot Just Beads that evening. She
also had membership directories on the table for those who have not yet received
them.
Vice President of Programming report:

Renee reported that the November meeting would be on faux enameling (she
will be the presenter) and the December meeting will be the holiday party and
silent auction.
Brenda Schweder is still looking for
submissions for her upcoming book; see Julie Miller or Helen Dahms.
The program for the evening was on polymer
clay by artist Alice Konkel. She
gave an informative and interesting presentation on how to transfer images to
the clay and the many creative ways it can be used.
Thank you, Alice, for an excellent job.
Approximately 45 members were in attendance.
