Loose Bead Society of Greater Milwaukee President Rhonda Kutz welcomed everyone and
called the meeting to order. The main topic of discussion this evening was the
Bead and Button Show. Rhonda thanked all members who volunteered at the package
check booth. A special thanks went
out to Knot Just Beads for their generous donation of the grand prize for the
raffle and to Northwest Beads for donating towards the Children’s Hospital
project. Treasurer Ann Cook reported that the package check took in $514, the raffle brought in $230 and $152 worth of denim shirts were sold during the Bead and Button Show, totaling to an $896 profit. Juanita had surgery the week after the show and we all wish her a speedy beadful recovery. The denim shirts will now be sold for $10 and will be at next month’s meeting. Kathy Willmerling is the new membership chairperson. Thank you, Kathy, for volunteering to help out. Renee gave a rundown of the upcoming programs. In July, Rhonda Kutz will present designing with color. Bring your favorite bead book to August’s meeting for sharing how books inspire and motivate each of us in different ways. In September, there will be a presentation on multimedia; using unusual materials in jewelry making. The program tonight focused on Show and Tell from the member’s Bead and Button Show experiences. Members shared class and workshop experiences as well as what goodies they discovered from the various vendors. Approximately 30 people were in attendance. Respectfully submitted, |
